Aquarius Home Care Limited ("Aquarius Home Care", "we", "our") is a CQC-registered home care provider delivering compassionate, person-centred care across London, Berkshire and the surrounding areas. This Carbon Reduction Plan sets out our current carbon footprint, our reduction targets, and the actions we are taking and plan to take to reduce emissions across our operations.

This plan has been prepared with reference to Procurement Policy Note (PPN) 006 (previously PPN 06/21) — Taking Account of Carbon Reduction Plans in the Procurement of Major Government Contracts, and the associated Technical Standard for the Completion of Carbon Reduction Plans, and is also published as evidence of our environmental commitments to clients, staff and partners.

This is Aquarius Home Care's first published Carbon Reduction Plan. We have not previously collected energy, fuel and travel data in a form suitable for emissions reporting, so 2026 has been adopted as our baseline year. Sections 4 and 5 below set out how we will collect this data and report against this baseline in our next update, due 16 July 2027.

Aquarius Home Care Limited is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050. As a provider of regulated domiciliary care services, we recognise that environmental sustainability is fundamental to delivering safe, high-quality, person-centred care. We are committed to reducing the environmental impact of our operations while continually improving the sustainability of our services.

Where applicable, our greenhouse gas emissions will be measured, reported and verified in accordance with:

• The Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard
• UK Government Environmental Reporting Guidelines
• UK Government GHG Conversion Factors for Company Reporting
• Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) guidance, where applicable

Baseline Year: 2026

This is the first Carbon Reduction Plan produced by Aquarius Home Care Limited. Accordingly, 2026 has been adopted as the baseline year from which future carbon reduction performance will be measured. We are implementing processes to accurately identify, collect and verify greenhouse gas emissions across our operations. Annual reporting will enable meaningful comparison against this baseline and demonstrate continual improvement.

As this is our first Carbon Reduction Plan, we are currently establishing our baseline greenhouse gas inventory. Verified emissions data is not yet available. We have implemented procedures to collect, monitor and report Scope 1, Scope 2 and relevant Scope 3 emissions annually. Future Carbon Reduction Plans will include quantified emissions data together with progress against reduction targets.

As this is our initial reporting year, current emissions correspond with the baseline year. Future annual Carbon Reduction Plans will report: Scope 1 emissions (tCO2e); Scope 2 emissions (tCO2e); relevant Scope 3 emissions (tCO2e); total greenhouse gas emissions; annual percentage reduction achieved; and progress towards Net Zero by 2050.

We will monitor and report emissions arising from activities including, where applicable:

Scope 1 — Direct Emissions: fuel consumed by company-owned or controlled vehicles; heating fuels used within company premises; other directly controlled fuel consumption.

Scope 2 — Indirect Energy Emissions: purchased electricity used within our office, administrative premises and operational facilities.

Scope 3 — Other Indirect Emissions, where relevant: business travel; employee commuting; purchased goods and services; waste management; water consumption; fuel and energy-related activities; information technology and telecommunications equipment; home working (where applicable); third-party operational services.

Aquarius Home Care Limited is committed to:

• Achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050
• Establishing accurate annual greenhouse gas reporting from 2026 onwards
• Working towards reducing operational greenhouse gas emissions by at least 30% by 2035, subject to annual emissions measurement and operational growth
• Reducing office electricity consumption by 20% by 2030
• Reducing paper consumption by 75% through digital working practices
• Improving recycling performance year on year
• Increasing procurement from environmentally responsible suppliers
• Embedding sustainability into everyday operational decision-making

To achieve these objectives, we will implement the following measures.

• Install energy-efficient LED lighting where practical
• Purchase energy-efficient office equipment and appliances
• Monitor energy consumption and identify opportunities for reduction
• Ensure lights and electrical equipment are switched off when not in use
• Review opportunities to procure renewable electricity where feasible

To reduce resource consumption, we will:

• Use electronic care management systems
• Maintain digital personnel and operational records
• Communicate electronically with staff, service users and stakeholders wherever possible
• Minimise printing and expand secure digital document management

As travel is an essential element of domiciliary care delivery, we will:

• Optimise staff travel routes between client visits
• Reduce unnecessary business journeys
• Promote virtual meetings and training where appropriate
• Encourage car sharing where operationally practical
• Review opportunities to introduce lower-emission or electric vehicles as operations develop

• Increase recycling of paper, cardboard, plastics and electronic waste
• Reduce reliance on single-use materials where practical
• Promote responsible waste disposal practices, reviewed annually

• Consider environmental impacts during purchasing decisions
• Work with suppliers that demonstrate environmentally responsible practices
• Purchase products with reduced environmental impact where practical, and reduce unnecessary packaging

Employees play an important role in achieving our environmental objectives. We will:

• Promote environmental awareness across the workforce and encourage energy-saving behaviours
• Promote sustainable travel options where practical
• Include environmental considerations within operational procedures
• Review environmental objectives through regular management meetings

Overall responsibility for implementation of this Carbon Reduction Plan rests with the Directors of Aquarius Home Care Limited. The Directors will review environmental performance annually, monitor progress against carbon reduction objectives, ensure compliance with relevant environmental legislation, allocate appropriate resources to support implementation, and review and approve updates to this Carbon Reduction Plan.

Performance against this Carbon Reduction Plan will be reviewed annually. The annual review will include updated greenhouse gas emissions data, progress against reduction targets, review of carbon reduction initiatives, new objectives where appropriate, and opportunities for continual improvement.

As the organisation develops, Aquarius Home Care Limited will continue to improve greenhouse gas emissions data collection and reporting, strengthen environmental performance monitoring, consider implementation of recognised environmental management systems where appropriate, explore renewable energy opportunities, and continue reducing greenhouse gas emissions across all operational activities. This Carbon Reduction Plan will be reviewed annually and updated to reflect organisational growth, legislative changes and best practice.

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with Procurement Policy Note (PPN) 006 (previously PPN 06/21) — Taking Account of Carbon Reduction Plans in the Procurement of Major Government Contracts, and the associated Technical Standard for the Completion of Carbon Reduction Plans. Greenhouse gas emissions will be measured, reported and recorded in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard, the UK Government Environmental Reporting Guidelines, and the applicable UK Government GHG Conversion Factors for Company Reporting.

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and approved by the Board of Directors of Aquarius Home Care Limited and represents the organisation's commitment to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 through continual improvement and responsible environmental management.
